BNBC Anglers Help NCHS to IHSA Sectional Victory - Evergreen Lake
The Bloomington-Normal Bass Club anglers have been working overtime with the local area high schools in their endeavors to become better anglers, and in the process, become Sectional champs.Fred Myers, the club's Youth Director, answered the call of duty and was boat captain for one of the NCHS teams. Under his expert guidance, the team claimed the Sectional title at Evergreen Lake despite the gale force winds. Nathan Foster, the coach of NCHS' fishing squad, sent us a note expressing their gratitude for all of the help BNBC gave freely.
"On behalf of the NCHS Bass Fishing team I would like to say a big thank you to the BN Bass Club for all the help in making the Sectional tournament and our team successful. The boys are really excited about making the trip to State and it would not have been possible without your help. Thanks again for everything and hopefully we will have a good couple of days in Carlyle." Nathan
One of the teams from NCWHS, captained by Jamie Maisenbacher, put the event's big bass in the bag, with a 3.51 pound fish, caught at the last remaining minutes of the tournament. NCWHS was just out of the running for a State berth, but have set their sights on 2010.
BNBC President, Larry Russell, made the following statement:
"On behalf of the BNBC we are looking forward to helping the next class on the 2010 series. We will be developing our schedule for next year and will again have our fishing seminars on that schedule, and hopefully will get the interest of more of the young people in the area. Good luck to the NCHS team at Carlyle!"
From all of us at the BNBC, we congratulate all the teams who participated and had a great time on the water both teaching and learning from the students. We hope to see all of you and more next year!
